My first day- the observatory hotel

I turned up to my work-placement very nervous but excited, in the waiting room i met an 18 year old girl from germany. She has been living in Australia for 2 weeks, was doing her work experience for business studies.

once i got started i was shown around the hotel (the back ways of courses). The kitchen had over 6 walk in fridges.

thankfully on work-placement i wasn't alone, i was with a girl called Ray Kay from yr 12 at river side. she was really nice and made me more relaxed even though i had never seen her in my life.
i did lots of food preparations including making lots of puff pasty foods, rolling food into small balls.
i even plated up some food, i made a meat platter and smoked salmon platter.

Ray and I also had to make garlic snails... we were so freaked out when they told us.
we had the place a shell onto foil and put some garlic butter in it place the snail inside and cover with garlic butter. then once we had finished the chef put two in the oven for me and Ray with out us noticing. so i had my first ever snail. i was so scared and i didnt want to try it but me and Ray built up the guts to eat it and it wasnt that bad just a little chewing and in your mind your thinking SNAIL SNAIL SNAIL.
